AKRONMotorcyclist killedAKRON: A 40-year-old Akron man died from injuries in a motorcycle crash Friday night when he struck a vehicle after turning into a Romig Road parking lot, authorities said.The man was identified by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office as John Jackson Jr. of Argonne Court. An autopsy was planned Saturday, but results were not available. Jackson was northbound on Romig about 9 p.m. when he turned into the parking lot, a medical examiner’s spokesman said.He was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he died at 9:45 p.m., the spokesman said.No details were available.SUMMIT COUNTYTire collections setSTOW: The Summit-Akron Solid Waste Management Authority will hold tire collections Saturday and Sept. 24.Hours are 9 to 11 a.m. at the county’s closed Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center, 1201 Graham Road.The fee is $1 per tire with a limit of 10 tires per vehicle.Passenger, light truck, motorcycle and small trailer tires will be accepted.
